We went to Vortex Racing to try their gear. They have just opened their doors on the Montreal island and they have 8 Cruden motion-based simulators in their scrupulously tidy facility. These are the same training simulator used by Formula One teams such as Red Bull Racing and can deliver up to 2.5 Gs of force. The track we sampled was Circuit Park Zandvoort from the Netherlands. We spent a total of 11 minutes on track (6min qual and 5min race). I was on the ‘pro’ mode with no assists and it was crazy fun. The forces were strong, I was so tumbled in the cockpit I could barely hold my line. Gotta tighten-up those belts a lot more next time!
