Last Saturday, April 30th 2011, at Karting St-Alphonse near Granby. I think it was maybe the third time I raced there. I love this track! I really like how they changed the configuration of turn 5, where there are big ‘tractor wheels’ or something like that. I dunno if it’s a recent change or what, it had been a while since my last visit. But it’s now much faster there, chaining 4 & 5 flat out and then carrying all that speed onto the back stretch. Awesome! The whole track feels a lot like an european F1 circuit, with all the fast sweepers and elevation changes. That’s a lot more fun than the typical ‘intestinal layout’ type of track.
I think we managed to put down some decent laps. The fastest being the 59.774 shown in the video. The board said the fastest lap of the week was a 59.335, so I guess that’s ‘ok’. But compared to the track record of 57.420, we were quite off! I don’t really know where I lost the most time, I think maybe turn 2 is where I effed the lap, exiting too wide. I don’t know much about karting, so if you have any kind of advice or anything please let me know in the comments. I’m always looking forward to learning new tricks!
